Chick's Sporting Goods is seeking a Hardware Department Manager for their Woodland Hills, CA location.

Hardware Department Manager:
In this position you will be responsible for the daily operations and sales of the ski, snowboard, and water sports equipment of our Sports Hardware Department.
Customer Service
Your primary focus is to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service from all department sales associates. You will address and resolve any customer service issues and ensure appropriate and timely resolution of all employee concerns.
Supervision and Training
You will assist in the hiring of extremely friendly and enthusiastic sales people. You will develop and train staff and provide constructive feedback on selling and product knowledge. You will work with all sales people on a daily basis and address any needs, outline clear expectations and closely monitor sales performance. You will assists with customer service and product knowledge training during new hire orientation, on-floor supervision, department meetings and vendor clinics. You will instruct staff on merchandising techniques and guidelines and coordinate cleaning and general maintenance of floor and backrooms.
Merchandising
You will be closely involved in all aspects of the product from the time it is received at the store to the time it is purchased by a customer. You will ensure proper handling of merchandise to minimize and prevent damage and loss. You will oversee stocking of product in back rooms and assists the department manager with the improvement and development of visual merchandising displays.
Position Qualifications
* 2 Years of retail supervisory experience
* Strong selling and customer service skills
* Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques
* Knowledge of sales, fashion trends of competition a plus
* Enjoy working in a team environment and able to work flexible hours
* Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
* Possess an extremely friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with ability to openly communicate and work with all types of individuals and personalities
* Ability to learn and receive direction
* High level of accuracy in completion of administrative paperwork and ability to operate a computer
* Possess a high level of dependability and initiative
* Strong leadership skills with ability to train, coach, motivate and develop sales staff
* Required to close two times per week and work two or three weekend days (Fri-Sun)
* Able to work during peak selling periods (Company Tent Sale Event in August, Thanksgiving through New Years Day and February Winter Sales Event)
* Prefer knowledge of basic visual merchandising
