The Digital Marketing Manager, Consumer Marketing, is responsible for the management, creation, and execution of online subscription marketing for Parenting and Babytalk on Parenting.com, on other third-party websites and through the email channel. The individual must be able to identify and communicate online opportunities and create digital marketing campaigns in support of our overall consumer marketing strategy. This includes developing paid subscriptions for Parenting as well as generating qualified subscriptions for Babytalk. Reports to Associate Marketing Director.
Job Responsibilities:
· Create strategy for online subscription promotions and conversational email campaigns. Oversee the development of a marketing calendar with well thought-out and articulated testing ideas. Work with copywriters, designers and the website teams to develop creative and execute marketing promotions in a timely manner.
· Work closely with online editors and brand managers to optimize subscription marketing potential of magazine websites by improving subscription visibility (banner ads, contextual links, embedded forms)

· Develop marketing strategy utilizing trigger-based conversational email campaigns. Oversee the development of a marketing decision tree and timely promotion calendar to be certain we take advantage of recency and frequency of brand interactions.
· Construct a set of best practices and manage recommended rules of engagement, helping to build the digital capabilities of consumer marketing. Devise and maintain a process workflow that ensures consistent delivery and evaluation of digital marketing campaigns. Develop new test formats and offers to improve response and pay-up rates.
· Keep abreast of innovative industry trends and evaluate the marketing efforts of our competition and other magazine/direct marketing entities as they relate to opportunities in online direct marketing. Attend relevant seminars and webinars to help understand changes in this rapidly evolving medium.
· Ensure that any marketing campaigns meet ABC/BPA requirements while maintaining audit documents. Develop collection strategy appropriate to build internal, permission-based email address lists.
· Oversee the timely reporting and analysis of the online marketing campaigns, including P&L’s and evaluation of key metrics, to ensure that financial and subscription budgets are met. Produce monthly reconciliations with variance explanations. Develop and revise budgets and forecasts as required.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate must:
· Have a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of online direct marketing experience, preferably consumer magazine subscription marketing.
· Be a creative and strategic thinker and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have excellent Excel, Word and Outlook skills. Experience with online tools and technology is a necessity.
· Be well organized and able to set priorities, manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines be a self-starter who takes ownership of a project, has a positive attitude and is comfortable in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
