A rapidly growing North Orange County Apparel Company is seeking a Sourcing Director with 10 years experience to join our fast paced team.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 10+ years of apparel experience in sourcing and production.
• Extensive knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes and lead-times.
• Knowledge of garment construction and garment production, as well as a working knowledge of supplier management, manufacturing and costing with experience in sourcing, production and development.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
• Previous international travel to factories and offices.

COMPENTENCIES
• In alignment with Product Development and Sales/Merchandise ensuring active adherence to time and action calendars facilitating factory readiness and product placement.
• Key and critical understanding of Companies key branded and core products, and corresponding fabrications, and cut/make costs
• Identifying and researching new suppliers/factories to ensure company product needs are met (preliminary costing, social compliance, factory evaluation, payment terms, capacity, etc.)
• Identifying and anticipating shifts in both labor and geography, with corresponding identification of new factories, location and implications (duty, freight etc)
• Identifying and anticipating shifts in Companies key input costs, cotton etc, with a corresponding strategy to offset product cost increase
• Ability to seamlessly align and be fully cognizant of Company management’s vision and strategies and flawlessly execute against these key strategies in an expeditious and disciplined manner
• Maintenance of vendor matrix supporting both short term execution and longer term strategies
• Negotiate pricing based on product, lead time, volume, execution, garment complexity, capacity, freight and duty costs all in support of product costing.
• Periodic factory visits for evaluation, negotiation, communication all enabling commercial viability of on time delivered quality product
• Together with VP Operations, ownership of tracking timely custom/offshore production ensuring work in progress aligns with customer commitment delivery dates giving cognizance to ocean freight, possible customs delays, inland freight.
• Monitoring and evaluation of factory execution and performance.
• Ownership of ensuring appropriate quality controls and staff deployed both offshore and domestically. Accountable for issuance of documentary letters of credit ensuring all terms are sufficient to protect the corporation.
• Review all customer compliance needs with factories and staff to ensure execution capability and to support cost recovery initiatives on compliance violations.
• Ensuring all supply chain partners adhere to “Company Vendor Guidelines and Requirements” as issued, understood and agreed to. This includes research and implementation of chargeback resolutions as necessary.
• Spearhead “vendor day” at corporate, in order to ensure full alignment with Company policies, procedures and strategy
• Quarterbacking “team concept” ensuring flawless execution through 100% alignment with all departments on every order and account.
• Training and development of staff ensuring every individual is fully aware of accountabilities, goals and objectives and is evaluated twice annually ensuring each staff member has sufficient tool/resources facilitating success.
