Fox is looking for an experienced Apparel Designer to design gloves, jerseys, and riding shorts for our Spring 2008 Mountain Bike Apparel collection that reflect our company image in the action sports industry. This is a temporary contract position, with possible opportunities for full time employment upon completion of the Spring 08 line.

Essential Functions of this Role:
• Designer directly responsible for creating designs for gloves, riding shorts, and jerseys.
• Supply accurate/complete Design Packs to the Product Development on schedule, including trims and accessories.
• Presents concepts for Line Reviews/Product Launch at head office.
• Adheres to Product Development timelines.
• Supply and coordinate artwork with other Design departments to maintain a cohesive look with the design direction of the Fox Brand.
• Create original, cutting-edge, industry-leading designs that achieve sales goals for Bike Department.
• Design SMU (Special Make Up) product that meets specific directional goals and schedule set by high-level key accounts.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Required:
• 2 years related work experience preferably within the action sports industry
• Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to manage multiple development projects, across several categories, within the set timeline and meeting the standards set by management.
• Ability to execute the development of complete projects, resolve issues and make recommendations to development and merchandising teams.
• Ability to work across multiple categories, meeting all calendar deadlines and standards set by management.
• Must have a strong attention to detail, ability to think on a conceptual level, with confident decision-making skills and good use of judgment.
• Excellent time management skills are necessary with superb organization

Scheduling Requirements:
• Project to begin in Early October
• Designer will be based at head office (Morgan Hill). Special consideration will be taken for designers who prefer to work remote- in this case the candidate must be available to travel to Morgan Hill up to 2x per month for design reviews.
