FUEL TV is recruiting a Predimator (Producer/Writer/Editor/Animator) to work with the the Creative Director, the OAP. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Produce, write, edit and animate branding and promotional units (on-air and off-air) that support the various efforts of the business.
- Supervise crews and a team of AP’s and PA’s for each project Management of their budget with special emphasis in pre-production and post.
- Supervise online sessions (motion control, film transfer, audio sweetening and color correction).
- Negotiate and administrate footage/photo licenses.
- Research and compile historical information and stats on athletes.
- Coordinate with AP to manage various releases, waivers, permits etc.
- Manage post schedule accordingly to meet all air date requirements.
- Pitch ideas to CD, Director and VP Conceptualize new ideas for the network.
- Oversee and coordinate management and archiving of On-Air Promo department assets, including but not limited to completed On-Air Promos, Audio Mixes, DVD assets, et al.
Requirements:
- Must have at least three years of Cable/TV production experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of action sports (surfing, skateboarding, bmx, fmx, snowboarding and wakeboarding) as well as a substantial understanding of the tricks and respective terminology of action sports. - Minimum of 3 years hands-on filming and editing experience and basic command of production legal issues, licenses and requirements.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with talent, managers, event staff, outside producers, corporate legal and all other persons involved with productions.
- Should have a command of production terminology Foreign language is always a plus as many shoots will take place overseas.
- Must be familiar with timecode addition/subtraction for show reformats as well as basic arithmetic and budgeting.
- Must be able to troubleshoot quickly and effectively regardless of the situation.
- Should posses “street smarts” as many productions will take place in all types of locations.
- Final Cut Pro Editing, After Effects animation, Photoshop, HD Camera Operation (includes Audio recording) and Production Lighting are essential to this job Film (16mm, 8mm) experience is a plus.
- Must have a basic understanding and experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Explorer.
- Should also be able to operate production related software such as Nesbit, media log, dv express, Avid, Creative Suite and other standard editing/post software programs.
- Able to lift camera gear and various production equipment.
- Occasionally hike, ski/snowboard, skate and or swim for coverage of specific sports.
