GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is located in Warren, MI - a northern suburb of Detroit.
The Helmet Industrial Designer at Warrior Hockey must design and manage projects from concept phase to sales samples. Design industry leading helmets with improved performance at all price levels while maintaining exciting aesthetics, clear product differentiation and consumer relevance for North American and global markets.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as Brand Managers, Product Managers, and Engineering to develop innovative products
• Ensure product development objectives and timelines are met as well as establishing proper communication levels to achieve maximum success
• Maintain and evolve the Warrior product design language and brand through industrial design
• Strive to create inspiring designs that challenge the market place, while developing around manufacturing and financial constraints
• Develop products through conceptual sketching, 2D Renderings
• Preparation of tech packs and preliminary documentation for development in Asia
• Develop a thorough understanding of CSA / HECC / CE testing standards
• Work with vendors and testing facilities to meet CSA / HECC / CE testing standards
• Adhere to the established budgets and timelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design
3+ years of relevant experience (Sporting Goods, specifically helmet design, preferred)
Experience in injection molding
Helmet experience is highly desired
Must possess excellent communication skills both visually and verbally
Ability to multi-task and move rapidly between highly diverse projects
Competence in a variety of 2D and 3D software
Playing experience is preferred but not mandatory
