Purpose and Scope: Manage the development of outerwear product in men’s & women’s RLX outerwear division. Obtain working knowledge of all outerwear brands to provide valuable input and assist in development process.
Responsibilities:
* Receive hand-offs from design and organize information as reference.
* Create WebPDM packages for all styles in Web PDM system and maintain PDM specs by style and group from initial hand off through production.
* Organize all sketches (flat, color, technical detail) for factory packages.
* Work with design team for initial line direction to create specifications appropriate to silhouettes and to troubleshoot development issues.
* Communicate program details with given factories/PRLS.
* Act as key contact for factory merchandisers and/or PRLS with regards to all development inquiries (construction, trims, logos, hangtags, packaging etc).
* Work with factories/PRLS to develop, track, and approve “factory sourced” material items, wash standards and logo print developments.
* Review corporate Timeline and ascertain appropriate approval schedule to meet sample and production deadlines.
* Responsible to communicate all fit, construction, and spec changes to factory/PRLS.
* Monitor sample timing given by production and highlight any problem areas to merchandising.
* Thoroughly review all samples prior to rigging for any potential production issues and to ensure accuracy.
* Attend product line review meeting and generate a list of product issues by concept as listed by senior design team. Relay these issues to contacts in production, merchandising, and PRLS /factory and bring all issues to closure. Address liabilities with merchandising and design.
Job Requirements:
* College degree, preferably in design/merchandising-patternmaking ability a plus.
* 5+ years experience as Technical Designer.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Proven verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to establish relationships with team members and vendors.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organization and time management skills.
* Computer Experience - Excel, Microsoft Word. Outlook Express, WebPDM.
