The Materials Developer will assist the Development Team to drive commercialization of the product line from initial textile concept to final specifications for salesmen sample production and final bulk production executing inline fabrics to be in compliance with timelines, quality, price and functionality. Some specific responsibilities include:
*Update and maintain the textile database and spec sheets.
*Assist with the lab dip approval process for Yarn Dye and Print fabrics.
*Work with all mill partners to track developments, deliveries and meet timelines.
*Work closely with the Development team to prioritize and execute on given specific projects.
*Outline all fabric developments, outstanding issues and address any problems with product and creative teams.
*Organize and present all fabrics for all rider round tables and sales meetings.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Business Management, or Fashion Design plus a minimum of 2 years of product development experience. An understanding of textiles and product life cycle, preferably in the action sports business.
Demonstrated project management skills, three years' experience managing production schedules and excellent interpersonal communication skill necessary. Textile knowledge required. Strong computer skills including Word and Excel required. An understanding of color theory is a plus. Knowledge of knit and woven construction, testing and functional finishes a plus.
