Action sports company centrally located in Orange County is looking for an Associate Young Men's Apparel Designer with 5 solid years experience in apparel design.

Responsibilities:
* Research, recognize, understand and forecast the latest fashions for our target market.
* Create trend boards and find color direction.
* Design denim, fleece, knits, walkshorts, board shorts and woven shirts
* Collaborate with Sourcing to receive tools from factories and make decisions on fabric, applications and colors.
* Develop concepts to fufill market needs for hot market/product exposure events that are applicable to market needs
* Understands the business: budgets, costs, pricing, sourcing, strategic planning, etc.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent specializing in apparel design, fabric arts, or related field.
* Associate's degree with 5 years related work experience acceptable in lieu of bachelor's degree
* Ability to design for multiple markets
* Illustrator, Photoshop, CS3 and CS4 and Excel
* Ability to work in a team environment and manage a project effectively and achieve a goal
* Knowledge of garment construction and sewing
* Knowledge of fabrics and materials
* Strong ability to problem solve and identify creative solutions
* Artistic and composition ability that has moved a product or program forward
* Organizational, time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to juggle mutiple projects and meet deadlines
* Understanding of the production process in a manufacturing environment
* Project management and presentation skills
* Ability to successfully lead people to achieve a united goal
