Nikes Commercial Analytics team provides descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive solutions to drive business decisions that ensure consumers have access to the right products at the right locations in a timely matter. This is no easy task, and can be immensely complex in North America, Nikes largest geography.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Lead, Product Merchandising Insights & Analytics Manager for Nike North America Commercial Analytics. In this role, you will be at the forefront of insight analysis, synthesis, and communication, with a primary focus on Product Merchandising topics such as color, assortment guardrails, trends, and more.
The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, balanced with a pragmatic mentality and can-do approach that can comfortably navigate ambiguity and dynamic Product Merchandising business needs. You will have a forward focused approach that enables you to understand the impact of trends, both merchandising and macro environment, on the business. Your technical background will be solid, being comfortable in data cleansing, data analysis, data visualization, and data story-telling. Youll be familiar with statistical approaches and tools and have a strong understanding of retail metrics and operations. Mostly importantly, you have a proven track record of working with a wide range of stakeholders and guiding non-technical partners how to understand, interpret, and take action on data-driven results.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Your role centers on providing data-driven insights to empower our Product Merchandising teams to take meaningful actions. In a dynamically evolving business environment, your projects will span a multitude of topics driven by business priorities, offering you the opportunity to delve deep into Nike's Product Merchandising business by delivering both recurring and moment-based analytics and insights. Your responsibilities encompass:
Supporting the Product Merchandising program by comprehending key business questions and delivering insights and analytics that inform decision-making, a vital focus of Nike's strategy.
Conducting a diverse range of analytics, such as deep-dive projects and statistical analysis, to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
Synthesizing data insights into a digestible format for key partners and delivering data-grounded presentations that uncover key trends, themes, and recommendations to address essential questions.
Weaving together quantitative and qualitative insights using multi-disciplinary intel (qualitative research, quantitative external surveys, competitive industry research, and more) to produce a competitive lens to view the business and macro environment.
Pioneering innovative data analysis methods that may lead to breakthrough insights.
Serving as the analytics expert across various work streams and the team, offering a perspective and guidance on available data and how analytics can deepen our understanding of both consumers and our business in the given area.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH?
Your role is part of the Commercial Analytics team in North America, that also includes teams that support the Marketplace, the Demand & Supply Management team, and a dedicated Data Science & Forecasting team. We are part of North America Consumer Insights and Analytics, and can leverage the amazing work of our broader org to bring a multi-disciplinary approach to complex problems. Youll also be part of the Product Merchandising organization as a dotted-line support function, helping them infuse data and insights into how they bring Nikes products to life for our consumers across the marketplace.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING?
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field, is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professiocnal experience or a combination of work and academic qualifications.
Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze data, formulate hypotheses, and provide recommendations to a broad range of collaborators.
Advanced SQL skills are mandatory. Experience querying big data environments (e.g., Hive, Snowflake, Databricks) is preferred.
Proficiency in data visualization is essential. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, DOMO) is preferred.
A talent for managing project scope from start to finish, ensuring quality results through validation and peer review.
An innovative approach focused on generating ideas and opportunities for insights work across the business.
The crucial ability to establish robust partnerships across a multi-layered organization.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Keynote, or a similar presentation format is required.
Prior experience working with qualitative data, surveys, and competitive intelligence tools preferred.
