Job Summary:
At the direction of the company owner, the General Manager is responsible for the development and sales growth of Brave New World’s three retail locations in Monmouth and Ocean Counties (New Jersey), with a focus on monitoring and improving the company’s high retail standards. He or she is also responsible for ensuring efficient business operations of the company through effective management of resources and personnel.
Responsibilities:
• Supervises and manages all retail store managers, including implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures and company directives. Primary focus is to ensure all customers receive unsurpassed customer service.
• Has a full understanding of the company’s core retail markets, having a primary concern with improving sales and service to the same.
• Oversees product knowledge and sales training for all retail managers and associates.
• Maintains effective partner relationships with non-retail company personnel.
•Organizes resources such as facilities and employees so as to ensure effective sales of goods and services.
• Oversees proper sales promotional set-up of store and maintenance of sales floors and stock rooms.
• Ensures compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices and company directives including sales floor behavior/etiquette, store security, and proper banking procedures.
• Maintains communication with retail store management regarding all employee discipline concerns.
Requirements:
• Experience or demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a team-based environment.
• Strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and influencing, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Previous multi-unit management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the surf and snow industries a plus.
• Solid strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• A self-starter, confident in his/her abilities, self-motivated and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Creative and flexible in attitude and style to adapt to new situations in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
• Associates or Bachelor''s degree, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 4 years of retail management experience.
