Earth Products, located in Carlsbad CA, creates an opportunity for a Production Manager – Accessories & Apparel to join the company.
This Production Manager is responsible for the sourcing and procurement of all apparel and accessories, which will meet the Company’s standard costs, quality standards and production needs. Will be held responsible for the on-time, complete delivery of all apparel and accessories. In addition he/she will develop annual sourcing strategy for same. This position is responisble for ALL Earth Products brands.
Direct job responsibilities:
• Responsible for sourcing and procurement of Apparel, accessories, and other assigned categories, to support the operation of the company and sales representatives.
• Responsible for coordinating sourcing efforts through individual knowledge and use of K2 Global Sourcing.
• Oversee the direction and efforts of Apparel Production Department staff.
• Negotiates with Apparel (and other products) domestic and foreign suppliers for achieving cost and delivery objectives.
• Ensures company expectation of quality standards, specifications, control on specifications and overall supplier performance are communicated to suppliers.
• Works with suppliers, sales, and product development departments to rectify quality issues.
• Assist in analyzing, developing, and implementing cost reduction programs for product lines (domestic and abroad).
• Responsible for establishing and communicating production schedule between in-house staff and foreign resources.
• Develops and implements purchasing strategies and process for apparel and accessories (domestic & foreign) (I.E.: vendor selection, cost objectives, risk evaluation, letter of credit, foreign programs, customs with duties, etc.)
• Locates new apparel and accessory sources.
• Gives semi-annual report cards with grading and opportunities for improvement to all sources.
• Researches and keeps abreast of U.S. Customs Import Regulations.
• Foreign travel.
• Performs miscellaneous other assignments as required.
Shared responsibility
• On time and complete fulfillment of all sales and production orders, this is shared with Logistics, and Sales.
• Developing annual apparel and accessories sourcing plan and working to fulfill the company’s sourcing needs. Must work closely with Brand manager and Product development to identify future needs before they are apparent. Finalize approval with Operations Director.
Team and “owed” requirements.
• Participation on CIP teams to facilitate company improvement.
• Annual budget for department, and the sourcing plan both are owed to the Operations Director.
Authority
Requires approval of Operations Director
Spending and hiring within approved department budget with the approval of your supervisor.
