The Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping, receiving, order fulfillment and housekeeping tasks. Order fulfillment and shipping tasks include picking, packing and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck/container shipments and stocking the warehouse shelves. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Essential Functions:
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
1. Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with pick ticket and customer requirements
2. Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock
3. Notify the supervisor of shortages
4. Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
5. Maintain product stock in work area
6. Stock shelves in the warehouse
7. Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the supervisor when materials get to the restocking point
Receiving
1. Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment
2. Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received
3. Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects and notify the supervisor of findings
4. Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items
5. Stock shelves in warehouse
6. Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience in receiving, fulfillment or shipping
• Effective communication /comprehension skills – verbal and written
Skills Required:
• Computer literacy required (must be proficient with the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet)
• Demonstrated ability in basic mathematics, and the ability to follow and enforce the adherence to process
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment
Working conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
• Shifts vary depending on workload and urgency, availability on weekends may be required.
• Required to lift and carry loads of up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Required walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling.
• Work outside and inside work around machinery, moving forklifts, work on ladders.
• Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking
