As our Global Brand Manager, Surf you'll provide strategic leadership and develop marketing plans for Nike's Brand Initiatives and Brand Drivers for Surf. You'll be the voice to the Action Sports/Surf consumer and protector of the Brand. You'll maintain close relationships with key consumer groups and work closely with sports marketing, event marketing, regional marketing teams and field reps to identify influencers and stay current on market trends. You'll also own a process of evaluation and analysis of execution to ensure continuing improvement in consumer experience and use of resources to achieve that experience. You'll lead the development of strategic marketing plans and briefs, as well as completing the fieldwork/research needed for the plans. You'll be the lead informer and communicator on all the details, decision-making and progress on key assigned initiatives. Furthermore, you'll lead the categorical and seasonal event execution and evaluation to ensure excellence with functional and regional groups. You'll establish tangible business objectives and monitor results. You'll allocate and align resources to achieve business objectives. You'll also develop and lead marketing plans for category-relevant athletes and teams in conjunction with Sports Marketing. You'll lead the team's development of strategy, implementation and evaluation of plans for both category and seasonal marketing initiatives. You'll contribute to the definition of Surf marketing strategies that support the broader Brand plan. Moreover, you'll lead the integrated marketing process. You'll participate in the creation of seasonal product outlines that detail all key products for Surf. You'll identify and communicate the strategic relevance of product insights in the evolution of the Brand. In addition, you'll develop and manage the budget for key initiatives and develop, manage and operationalize short-term goals critical to the business unit's success.

Requirements for the position include:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field plus a minimum of 8 years' progressively responsible marketing experience, including at least 2 years' management experience MBA preferred (2 additional years' experience in lieu of a degree)
• Demonstrated experience in consumer marketing or related experience in marketing project management, marketing planning, marketing implementation, retail merchandising and grassroots events execution
• Proficient financial skills and knowledge, including ability to optimize resources to create profitability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
• Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with management and external resources
• Strong knowledge of cross-team calibration
• Demonstrated ability to own the creative briefing process including the management of external agencies used to assist in those efforts
• Solid understanding of integrated marketing and the opportunity for Action Sports to leverage it while maintaining its identity
• Strong understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as project/change management, idea creation, employee development, coaching and cross-team effectiveness
• Demonstrated leadership in fostering continuous learning, empowerment, involvement, and opportunities
• Ability to establish an independent view, effectively collaborate in decision-making and motivate others, especially during difficult situations or on tough organizational issues
• Must have strong knowledge of the Surfing industry, its respective athletes and the consumer culture surrounding Surf
• Must have a confident understanding of the competitive market, consumers and retail trends
