General Summary

The Marketing Coordinator role focuses on supporting key brand initiatives & events, team product coordination, media and social media management, asset trafficking and general marketing department support. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, think strategically in support of key marketing initiatives and represent the brand at events and promotions in a positive, professional manner. A deep understand the surf and general youth lifestyle market and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.

 

Essential Job Functions

•Coordinate distribution key seasonal product to team riders and other affiliates quarterly.

•Manage and build departments calendars to ensure initiatives are being executed properly and on time

•Work within annual and seasonal budgets as defined by management

•Attend and coordinate the execution of studio shoots. Manage models + production and call sheets. Pull, organize and steam samples.

•Work closely with athletes and digital team to provide updated content for team bios and social media content.

•Coordinate and execute event production including on-sight support in accordance with the seasonal / annual marketing plan.

•Attend brand events as needed to represent and promote the brand.

•Maintain marketing materials inventory by determining required quantities of event signage, promotional items, and athlete samples.

•Work with the Director of Retail Marketing to lead the trafficking and development of seasonal POP, Instore and Window transitions

•Assist in tradeshow set up and logistics for national and regional shows, including packing show materials and set up / break down as required.

•Manage communication and coordinate product distribution for the shop ambassador program.

•Plan, Post and Edit social media content alongside the Demand Creation Managers (include community management)

•Assist in the coordination of seasonal social media content development and distribution as required

•Develop and maintain digital performance metrics

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Understanding of the surf and youth lifestyle market

•Organized with strong writing, editing and communication skills

•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Asana

•Competent using Acrobat Pro and Adobe Photoshop

•High level of initiative, motivation, and drive

•Self-motivated and able to complete daily tasks unsupervised

•Knowledgeable in social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter

•Skill in completing multiple tasks at once

•Skill in identifying and resolving problems

•Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and vendors

•Ability to work independently and meet managerial goals

•Ability to follow oral and written instructions

•Ability to organize daily activities of self and others and to work as a team player

Required Education and Experience

•BS/BA in relevant discipline (e.g., Marketing, Business Administration)

•Minimum of 2-3 years marketing experience

•25% travel required. Occasional weekend travel required.

 

 

Physical Requirements

Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
