Zing Wrx, the makers of Slek Skateboards is searching for a Marketing Coordinator that will provide expert insight into the skateboarding industry. This position will develop and implement company’s marketing initiatives, social networks, brand and product messaging and ecommerce platforms. The ideal candidate would be an experienced skateboarder with skilled riding ability capable of testing and demonstrating different skateboard styles, shapes, and makeups as directed.
YOU WILL:
• Have expert knowledge of skateboarding market and current and emerging skateboarding industry trends and events.
• Develop and coordinate marketing strategies, communications and materials for the Slek brand and other Zing Wrx ventures as directed.
• Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, including negotiation of contracts when applicable.
• Create, maintain, actively monitor, and engage on company social media profiles, blogs, forums and emerging social environments.
• Coordinate and maintain e-commerce sites and initiatives providing regular analysis and performance metrics to management.
• Represent the company at tradeshows, demos, or events throughout the country, providing product information, insight, and technical support on all Slek products.
• Provide exceptional customer service to accounts and consumers through phone calls, emails, and in person at events.
• Participate in and present at planning and strategy meetings involving corporate executives and board members.
• Travel overnight nationwide up to 8-10 weeks per year. (Intervals of 2-3 weeks at a time).
YOU HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing Communications or related discipline from a properly accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current Arizona Driver's License.
• Must have clean driving record for past 3 years not to include: more than one accident, DUI/DWI citation, speed violation greater than 20 mph, hit and run or reckless driving citation. (And be at least 21 years old)
• Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal and team skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent writing skills with emphasis on news and/or advertising copy style.
• Proficiency in tools/techniques required to add content and engage in social blogs, forums podcasts and other internet environments.
• Extensive knowledge of skateboarding industry, retail environments, media outlets and leading OEMs.
• Ability to learn about corporate’s brand values, product, and heritage.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
• Proven ability to conduct phone/on camera interviews for purposes of reporting news.
• Working knowledge of digital video, photography, graphics creation (Illustrator) and image editing (Photoshop),
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint) as well as Social Media platforms.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
