American Wave Machines (AWM) develops world class surf pools, wave systems and surf venues. AWM is looking for Mechanical Engineer to join the AWM team. This person will be working under AWM Lead Engineer and participate in the design of mechanical and electromechanical wave pool systems and equipment, assist with configuration management tasks related to bill of materials, parts lists, and equipment supply, and supports sales efforts as needed. The ideal candidate must have strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems. Self-starting, team oriented, and ambitious candidates only need apply as this job requires a self-starter mentality and someone who thrives in that type of environment.


Responsibilities:


• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of fluid mechanics, mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

• Conducts computational fluid dynamic simulations

• Conducts dynamic simulation using Matlab Simulink and Dymola

• Conducts Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, ABAQUS

• Creates Computer Generated models using Catia V5, Co-Create V18

• Proficient in C++

• Develops mechanical and electromechanical system specifications by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.

• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

• Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.

• Maintains system and product data base.


Qualifications:


• Prior experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis

• Prior experience with Control Systems

• Design Skills, Conceptual Skills, General Consulting Skills

• Proficiency in Catia and PRO-E CAE software toolsets a plus

• Wiling to travel if needed and adapt to a fast pace schedule

• Passion for and basic knowledge about professional sports a plus
