About the Role:

Obermeyer is seeking a Merchandise Manager for Outerwear who demonstrates strategic thinking in line planning and understands sourcing, development, and production processes. The ideal candidate must be skilled in working cross-functionally with internal and external teams, including sales, marketing, production sourcing, fit and spec, contract designers, and factory and material partners. Exceptional communication and critical decision-making skills throughout the product life cycle and being an adaptable and transformational leader while working independently and collaboratively while excelling in a fast-paced creative environment will be key to success.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

• Drive the inception of innovative designs, components, processes, materials, concepts, and cutting-edge engineering techniques using market research and analysis into a manufacturable and marketable finished product.
• Lead the development and execution of strategic assortments based on a thorough knowledge of the market, brand, and business, while addressing the needs of each region and sales channel while maintaining the brand DNA.
• Utilize trend studies to inform seasonal palette and print selections, adhering to calendar while communicating merchandising vision and intent to internal stakeholders at key checkpoints.
• Create seasonal design briefs and work with contract designers to meet creative and business objectives and calendar timelines.
• Improve existing product offerings to elevate and secure core business.
• Own the project management process, with an emphasis on a quality and timely completion of tasks in alignment with development and corporate calendars.
• Engineer prototypes that address desired function, aesthetics, market appeal, responsible manufacturability while tracking that samples and materials are fully tested to live up to Obermeyer’s reputation for delivering the high-quality product.
• Work with internal stakeholders to manage style level product costing to achieve cost targets and margin objectives, including proposed MSRPs and FOBs.
• Ensure accurate tech pack creation and BOM data entry.
• Inspire a team-based culture and maintain a positive working dynamic with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate with stakeholders to achieve optimum results and problem solve for challenges in a collaborative, effective and result-oriented manner.
• Demonstrate innovation and initiative: curious and open minded, open for a challenge.
