Nike Analytics encompasses multiple teams across the enterprise. As a Nike Data Science & Advanced Analytics intern, you will be responsible for assessing and analyzing data, building predictive models, and delivering valuable insights to key stakeholders across the business. We want to make every Nike decision better because of data! Data Science interns will have the opportunity to work on one of the many teams across the Enterprise Analytics function.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team. You will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of data analysis and machine learning. Working closely with our experienced data scientists, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets, as well as developing and implementing predictive models and data visualizations. A passion for data-driven decision-making and an eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
WHAT YOULL EXPERIENCE:
As a Data Science Intern, you will work closely with our experienced team of data scientists to tackle real-world business problems through data derived insights and advanced analytics. Some of the these you can expect to work on are:
Assist in collecting and preprocessing large datasets from various sources for analysis and modeling.
Conduct statistical analyses and interpret results to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and apply data-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
Utilize programming languages (Python, R, etc.) to manipulate, clean, and visualize data effectively.
Participate in data exploration and feature engineering to enhance model performance and accuracy.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Qualifications:
Enrolled in a MBA program or another Advanced Degree Program with an expected graduation date of December 2024 or Spring 2025
2+ years of experience in a role developing predictive or explanatory models and/or experimentation processes
Experience with neural nets and deep architectures preferred
Experience with moderate to large-scale data sets (>100GB) preferred
Previous experience in working in a product management capacity for data science product
Expertise in at least one production-quality programming languages (e.g. java, python, scala, C++)
Skills:
Proven ability to use strategic tools and frameworks to analyze complex strategic problems, develop clear recommendations and present findings
Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, develop hypotheses, perform rigorous analyses, and make recommendations to broader audiences
Demonstrated ability to use data to influence decision making. Strong project management experience managing multiple project streams and complexity
Strong interpersonal skills and open to learning new tools/techniques
