Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an innovative and solutions-oriented packaging engineering to join the team responsible for designing, testing, and implementing packaging designs within the end-to-end supply chain.
You will explore technologies, design, develop and implement solutions for packaging within the supply chain network under a structured design process.
A successful candidate will have an established background working in highly cross-functional teams with capability to create high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem-solving ability, excellent project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment. This role will report directly to the Director of North American Engineering.

What You Will Do
Oversee and manage packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Work closely with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, sustainability ,and sourcing.
Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
Work closely with Engineering to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, sustainability, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs.
Work with the manufacturing teams to ensure that the packaging designs are optimized for logistics.
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that packaging meets/exceeds logistics/operational specifications.
Establish and foster strong partnership across different functions in the matrix organization.

What You Bring
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or packaging engineering OR a related field
3+ years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging.
Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential.
5+ years of experience in logistics engineering or related occupation of Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Packaging Engineering
Previous experience in Distribution Center Operations Management (DC Ops or Logistics engineering)
Package Design and operational experience with automated material handling equipment, preferably high-speed conveyance, automated sortation systems, case level ASRS, shuttle systems, automated packaging equipment, goods to person picking systems and robotics systems
Skilled in process design based on LEAN Principles
Ability to review/validate analytical data and determine best course of action
Proficient in evaluating, analyzing and interpreting complex statistical data to influence strategic decision making
