Responsibilities
Skullcandy is looking for a talented Soft Goods category/product manager that will drive market research, develop & execute the short, mid and long-term product strategy for our global line of apparel and accessories.
• This role will be responsible for creating the line plan including researching category trends, setting price/margin targets, executing the go-to-market strategies, and working seamlessly across a large cross-functional team.
• This role will analyze and understand Skullcandy’s channel strategy and build line plan strategies according to opportunities.
• This role will vigilantly take ownership of identifying in-line product improvement.
• Will require alignment with the sales organization to identify opportunities and exceed shared goals. Attendance at key account meetings and tradeshows will be expected.
• The seasonal product calendar will be owned by this role
• All seasonal product meetings will be led by the product/category manager.
• This person will work cross functionally with design, product development, marketing, sales, supply chain, and the Asia operations office.
• The ability to communicate clearly and provide visibility to all aspects of the product development process is critical.
• There will be frequent domestic and international travel.
• Identify and drive process improvements across multiple teams.
Experience + Qualifications
• 8+years category management & product merchandising experience
• BA or BS degree
• Ability to understand, analyze, and forecast product trends
• Understanding of fabric manufacturing techniques and processes
• Experience leading a product timeline process across multiple teams
• Significant experience with Asia-based suppliers
• Comfortable working in high-pressure situations with extended work hours
• Outstanding presentation skills
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
• Apple and Windows-based applications
