Overview:

As a strategic partner to the COO and VP of Merchandising, the VP of Sales is responsible for the direction and management of all aspects of sales and business development operations, including but not limited to: distribution and channel strategy, market competitiveness, sales team management and policy and procedure creation. As a key member of the executive team, s/he will oversee the development, implementation,tracking and evaluation of all sales goals and plans.

Essential Functions:

• Create and implement innovative multi-year (and annual)sales plans by channel, brand, category and customer
• Build detailed seasonal sales forecasts by channel, brand, category and customer
• Conduct a monthly management review and evaluation of sales plans/forecasts to ensure adherence to goals and sales initiatives
• Manage entire sales organization for all brands, including inside and independent reps
• Create departmental and individual goals and strategies
• Recruit, train and develop new and existing sales team members
• Increase and drive business in all existing sales channels
• Generate new sales channels and sales opportunities
• Document and execute best practice sales policies and operating procedures
• Oversee the creation, planning and organization of sales meetings and tradeshows
• Partner with marketing department to ensure marketing plans/programs align with sales initiatives and strategies
• Partner with merchandising and design to ensure market feedback is incorporated into seasonal product development
• Develop seasonal liquidation strategies for close out product
• Create, in conjunction with CFO, and manage sales budgets
• Coordinate the development and deployment of new technologies (e.g., B2B and CRM tools)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of industry experience in a National Sales Manager, or senior management, capacity
• Direct relationships with the following distribution channels:

1. High-end department stores
++ Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue
2. Mens specialty retailers
3. Key sporting goods retailers




4. Major online retailers
5. Off-price channels

• Connections with large corporate and management companies
• Experience using and implementing sales technologies, such as B2B and CRM systems
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
