The Product Designer will be responsible for designing strong, cohesive collections, in both existing and new product segments. We are looking for a team-oriented individual with strong design skills and a passion for our product, to join our growing product and design team. This role will work closely with our Product Managers, and design products that speak to our target market.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
* Analyze market trends and to develop new themes and areas for development
* Work with Product Managers and factory representatives on new fabrics, designs and treatments.
* Take initiative for sourcing and development of raw materials for our products.
* Work closely with Product Managers, Graphics Designers, and the Head of Product to develop and hone ideas around newly-identified themes, segments, trends and price points.
* Turn those themes and concepts into reality – well-designed products that recognize the needs of our target consumers and meet our identified styles and price points.
* Work collaboratively with our Product Managers to ensure high quality, well-designed products arrive in the market on time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* College degree in apparel design or related field
* High degree of technical proficiency and computer skills, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office suite
* Great sense of fashion and design, as evidenced by education and/or experience
* Minimum 5 years design experience in the fashion industry
* Superb, relentless and flawless attention to detail excellent rendering skills.
* Able to respond quickly while staying on task, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
* True feel and passion for trends in our market. Thorough understanding of market trends.
* Strong sense of personal initiative, with the ability to proactively set goals and create priorities for the continual development of Herschel Supply’s Product Department.
* Strong knowledge of the retail, fashion, lifestyle, and/or apparel industry with a firm understanding of calendars.
