Seea, a passion-forward swimwear company, is looking for a Product Developer to join our growing family in San Clemente, CA! This position is a full-time position in San Clemente. This position has the possibility of being hybrid, but most of the work will be in our office.

Seea makes innovative products that redefine the modern women’s surf brand. Seea was founded to create high quality, domestically made swimwear that is both technically functional and uniquely stylish for surfing and other water activities. Our goal is for women to enjoy playing in the ocean worry-free, and feel like their natural elegance, beauty and personality is reflected in what they are wearing. 

The ideal candidate would have technical expertise to advance Seea’s product innovation, as well as a passion for swimwear, fashion, surfing and apparel manufacturing in general. The primary responsibility of the Product Developer is to manage the development process of product from design to final prototype, working directly with our designer and production manager. 

As we are a growing company, this forward thinking position requires a unique mix of both traditional product development skills and design creativity. The ideal candidate would be well versed in both digital and paper patternmaking, possess intimate knowledge of swimwear and activewear construction, and have the ability to suggest and implement improvements in both design and production. 


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

•                  Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design preferred

•                  Minimum of 4 years experience in product development or related fields

•                  Experience and knowledge of garment construction in swimwear or activewear

•                  Experience and knowledge of pattern making

•                  Adobe Illustrator sketching expertise.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

             

•                  Create and maintain tech packs

•                  Create product specs, maintain all records, style files

•                  Communicate with factories to resolve issues with fit and construction

•                  Sample tracking

•                  Quality control trips to local factories

•                  Submit lab dips and prints to fabric suppliers, record comments and approvals

•                  Measure, document, and tag incoming development samples 

•                  Assist with fittings, record notes, take photos and creating documents for pattern revisions

•                  Digital pattern revisions

•                  Prototype sewing

 

 

SKILLS /JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

•                  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

•                  Solid working knowledge of the apparel business calendar year and lead times

•                  A broad based understanding of the domestic manufacturing process in particular

•                  Excellent proficiency in Illustrator and Excel

•                  Must be detail-oriented with excellent follow up and time management skills.

•                  Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with consequential schedules and deadlines

•                  Must be a team player, able to operate independently with minimal

•                  Demonstrate a solid knowledge of fit, patternmaking, sewing, and construction expertise

•                  Specific knowledge single needle and overlock construction techniques required

•                  Ability to cut, construct and sew prototype samples a huge plus

•                  Digital pattern making and CAD experience is a huge plus, specifically knowledge of grading and marker making software such as Tukatech, Gerber, etc…

•                  Knowledge of Monday.com is also a big plus
