Street Surfing, a rapidly growing global sporting goods company, is looking for an experienced Soft Goods Product Development leader who can manage the Soft Goods division. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in apparel production, design and fashion merchandising. Candidate must have a proven track record working with every aspect of development from inception to delivery with at least 7-10 years of experience working as a manager of a soft goods line. This position reports directly to the President.
Responsibilities include:
Cooperating with Sales and Marketing and European distributors to deliver product that meets all goals for the category and enhances brand image
Problem solving to bring innovative designs and new constructions to fruition
Translating design vision and consumer needs into assigned products
Working with internal and external partners to engineer prototypes that address function, aesthetics, market appeal and manufacturability
Management, creation and revision of Tech Packs and Sample requests for assigned styles
Reviewing prototypes for quality, execution, and fit, and provide information to factories in order to make necessary changes clear and organized
Communicating and coordinating all necessary information that supports on time delivery for all assigned styles
Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with Product Line Managers, Designers, Materials
Development, Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Prototyping/Wear-testing and Supply Chain Management in order to ensure performance
Ensure that new projects are engineered in accordance with cost targets (pre-costing and final confirmation)
Costing negotiations for each style and responsibility for Gross Margin of individual products and product category
Ensuring that all materials, processes, prototypes and development samples are fully tested to ensure adherence to our company's quality standards
