ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Distribution Centers utilize state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated team to provide Columbia Sportswear Company a competitive advantage in distribution. Accurate order fulfillment and on-time shipments are the hallmarks of our facility.

The Distribution Center Production Manager is directly responsible for service excellence in the product fulfilment for the Columbia Sportswear Company (CSC) portfolio of brands through a third party provider. The role is located on site at the 3PL service provider’s location and continually monitors service to ensure company and customer expectations are met at the highest level. This person creates a strong partnership with the vendor, translating our business requirements, executing unique brand objectives, representing the demands of our stores and customers, and predicting and resolving any operational/business/compliance gaps. This person builds effective relationships with appropriate stakeholders and teams at CSC headquarters.  Together with other key leaders, this role mitigates service risk during peak and non-peak periods, promptly addressing all foreseen or unforeseen disruptions.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Monitor the 3PL service provider operations to set and execute on contractual objectives. Ensure the successful flow of Columbia Sportswear Company products by:
scheduling to ensure a smooth flow of information, product and processes, achieving on-time performance in compliance with customer requirements
monitoring technical workflow and business adjustments as needed
supporting forecasting and routing to ensure planned deliveries/commitments
maintaining proficient knowledge of various customer/brand/store requirements
practicing safety measures to ensure compliance to 3PL safety requirements
aid and observe team performance via data statistics/dashboard
Observe and coordinate with other departmental leadership to resolve challenges and mitigate risk to ensure that all inventories are available for allocation and shipment
Support seasonal forecast changes to analyze opportunities and options to improve fulfillment methods, anticipate and troubleshoot system issues, or recommend staffing levels.
Observe and evaluate that a high degree of security for company assets is maintained.
Maintain positive open lines of communication in collaboration with CSC management, 3PL staff, and contacts in a variety of departments to translate business needs and get operational efficiencies. 

YOU ARE
A natural problem solver who can make decisions independently using data analysis
Strong relationship manager with the ability to influence senior leaders
Resilient and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment

YOU HAVE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Business Administration, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering
7-to-10-year experience in materials management apparel or other consumer products distribution services.
Apparel or other consumer products distribution services  
3 or more years of supervisory experience preferred 
Talent for analyzing and using data to improve planning, processes and decisions
Experience with logistics and transportation
Knowledge of retail business requirements
5 to 20% travel in domestic US
