Aqua-Lung America, a manufacturer and distributor of personal aquatic equipment for recreational and professional use, located in Vista, California, has an immediate opening for a Director of Human Resources.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with management to determine recruitment needs and staffing objectives.
• Recruits, screens, interviews and participates in the selection process of hiring new employees.
• Consults, coaches and assists management in resolving problems.
• Manages and secures all company benefit programs. Monitors and approves related invoices.
• Administers workers compensation including securing of insurance and investigation of accidents.
• Participates in the safety committee
• Works at the direction of the CEO in the formulation of a career development plan covering high potential employees and succession planning.
• Oversees annual employee evaluation process.
• Prepares budget for related activities and monitors expenditures against budget.
• Stays current on key federal, state and local laws and regulations, ensuring company is in compliance with these.
• Contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services, such as catering, vending machines and temporary staffing services
• Reviews and revises employee handbook and other company policies as needed
• Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field.
• 7+ years HR experience with 4+ years in a supervisory role.
• PHR or SPHR preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Federal and California labor and employment laws.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Background in employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training / development.
• Experience with 401(k), deferred compensation and employee stock purchase plans
• EEO1 reporting experience
• Good understanding of employer and employee requirements under the Affordable Care Act
• HRIS (ADP data base) systems management knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish (Preferred).
