Safety & Security Specialist 1 - Compensation Rate: $18.50/Hour

SAFETY---What You’ll Do/Job Responsibilities:
Responds to, assesses, & treats persons suffering from work-related injuries to include, but not limited to cuts, scrapes, trip & falls, ergonomics, lifting etc.
Responds to, assesses, & treats persons suffering from medical emergencies to include, but not limited to seizures, dehydration, diabetic issues, allergic reactions, heat/cold related illness, bug/animal bites etc.
Investigations and root cause analysis into safety incidents and near-misses.
Monitors & patrols multiple sites on foot and/or bicycle, checking & assessing for unsafe conditions, hazards etc.
Trained on, understands & ensures compliance of OSHA Laws.
Trained on, understands & ensures compliance of basic Fire Laws.
As an ERT (Emergency Response Team) member, you shall patrol the properties, observing and rectifying safety issues in the workplace.
Monitors and reports on environmental dangers such as air quality, river flood levels, snowfall, road conditions and potentially hazardous emissions and chemical odors etc.
Leads evacuations related to fire, fire-drills, flood, building closures etc.
Formally trained on, & commonly deals with Bloodborne Pathogens.
Formally trained in CPR, 1st Aid, AED & how to respond to medical emergencies.
Company does have childcare onsite for ages infant-6 years. Responsibilities include responding to injuries/medical issues and escorting the children & teachers on walks.
Company employees take “Field Days” into the surrounding wilderness. You will provide safety support by attending these and bringing the necessary 1st equipment.
Partners with, and works alongside, P&C (HR) on Work Comp procedures.
Partners with, and formally oversees COVID policies and procedures to include monitoring and issuance of Covid contact tracers.
Prepares accurate reports & recommendations on all Safety related issues.
SECURITY---What You’ll Do/Job Responsibilities:
Monitors & patrols multiple sites via CCTV, on foot and/or bicycle, assessing security issues to include, but not limited to trespassers, theft, burglary, unwanted persons, suspicious activity, property damage, threats etc.
Controls & monitors access into all buildings in person and via CCTV.
Observes, intervenes in and reports activities and incidents/prepares accurate logs and reports for said incidents.
Ensure compliance under CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism).
Escorts employees to their vehicles.
Creates and distributes company badges used for building access.
Prepares accurate reports & recommendations on Security related issues.
