Located in the heart of Orange County, Liquid Graphics is a high-end designer, screen printer and producer of branded and private label apparel to the action sports, retail and entertainment industry.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Screen Printing Department Supervisor to lead our screen department team. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth daily operations, maintain efficiency, and uphold company standards for quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to managing a team.
Key Responsibilities:
General Supervisor Duties:
- Oversee department staff to ensure optimal performance and a positive work environment.
- Address and resolve employee concerns or escalate to HR as necessary.
- Ensure team members coordinate effectively and adhere to daily responsibilities.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and break schedules.
- Approve timesheets, correct time entries, and process time-off requests.
- Conduct performance evaluations and track employee attendance.
- Ensure all required resources are available for department operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide LTS machine operators with necessary samples and hangars per the daily schedule.
- Monitor and ensure completion of the daily schedule.
- Supply employees with the required tools, resources, and supplies.
- Update screen locations for completed jobs based on QC reports.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Train employees and ensure they meet performance expectations.
- Submit daily production reports, tracking key metrics like cleaned, reclaimed, coated, and exposed screens.
- Complete weekly responsibilities, including:
- Sending screen order requests for restretches.
- Submitting inventory checklists and ordering chemicals/tools.
- Performing weekly exposure tests and submitting results.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Retrieve necessary samples from the art department based on production needs.
- Communicate priorities and rush orders to LTS machine operators.
- Organize and prioritize samples/hangars on the production rack.
- Adjust schedules as needed and inform LTS machine operators of changes.
- Track completed jobs and update screen locations throughout the day.
- Ensure daily cleaning tasks are completed.
- Conduct shift transfers, relay crucial information, and follow up on unresolved issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist the team with tasks as needed.
- Evaluate exposed screen racks for reclaiming potential.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and measurement devices.
- Perform technical testing and necessary adjustments.
- Analyze department reports for trends and recurring issues.
- Collaborate with sample departments and separations to improve processes.
- Schedule chemical changes and equipment maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in screen printing or a related manufacturing role.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of screen printing processes, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
