- Envision and bring to life cutting edge trends within the licensed apparel sector
- Design cutting edge Pro-League licensed apparel
- Create differentiation between sports leagues and to produce exclusive designs that will have significant consumer appeal
- Execute original designs through draping garments, pattern making and spec development
- Interpret designer sketch and basic information to an accurate and reproducible "style information" package
- Communicate and collaborate on all details directly with the factory to execute first sample
- Evaluate samples and communicate changes to internal and external partners
- Understand the brand, customer, principles, philosophies and values upon which the brand is built
- Partner and collaborate with agent, manufacturer and factory with clear and concise communication in a multi-cultural environment
- Maintain consistency of brand standards by using pattern blocks and minimum construction requirements
- Accurately fit, process and assess specs, previous requests and construction on a large quantity of samples execute production approval and sign off on quality production
Required Qualifications:
The ideal Manager, Apparel Design will have the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or Multimedia Design or related field.
- Three to Five years of design experience with at least three years of experience in designing eCommerce websites and applications.
- Proficiency with relevant design software particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash as well as HTML and Flash ActionScript
- Experience applying theories related to color schemes, use of space, text placement, usability and visual flow
- Understands and is able to create content specification and design guidelines
- Detailed knowledge of Professional Sports leagues
- Strong computer skills - well versed with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage to deadlines
- Excellent listening and communication skills, ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
