POSITION SUMMARY:

Ethika is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and is accountable for facilitating and forecasting financial operations and results. This individual will support the preparation of monthly/yearly financial analysis reports, collect pertinent information for third party audits, oversee financial reporting, operation, and audit various monthly reports. A successful individual in this role effectively exercises general accounting principles to provide a solution driven strategy, while maintaining department efficiency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs
• Follow our company’s established accounting processes
• Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation of all credit card transactions
• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and general ledger entries
• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions
• Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
• Assist VP of Finance and Accounting Manager in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies
• Manage employee credit card statements and reconcile charges
• Prepare documentation for external auditors
• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
• Support the VP of Finance and Accounting Manager by answering accounting and financial questions through researching and interpreting data.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Assist in providing support to the Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialists
• Possess personal characteristics such as; positive attitude, open mindedness, willingness to learn and grow, highly motivated, determined, and is a team player and execution specialist

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of prior finance/accounting related experience
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• Public Accounting Experience preferred
• Experience in Property, Sales Tax filings a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Thorough understanding of GAAP
• Experience with managing Budget/Actual Reporting
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
• High attention to accuracy, detail, and deadline oriented
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
