Position: Sr. Product Engineer, Innovation, Apparel (Global TNF)
What you will do
The primary focus of the Sr. Product Engineer, Innovation is to execute the development, engineering, fit and specifications for innovative, technology advanced products. The Sr. Product Engineer will work closely with the Sr. Manager, Innovation Development to execute functional prototypes that support the creation and validation of new product technologies. The product engineer in this role will work closely with design and materials team to validate new technology applications and provide guidance on construction and fit to cross-functional teams. This role will own the specifications for the products, publish and maintain all the records, style files, Bill of Materials, and samples associated with the product and related programs. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Innovation Development, Apparel.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Plans and tracks the development schedule of prototypes with vendors and Denver prototyping team
Manages moderate to high level technical development of assigned styles from design concept through to production-ready hand-off, ensuring both fit and technical engineering meets or exceeds expectations
Connect with category technical development teams to understand areas of focus and drive alignment on technologies that will be adopted into each respective area
Develops products, recommends constructions, advises on proper fit for style that meet design and Product Management expectations
Evaluates all samples for correct fit, cost, and construction, ensuring technical specifications are within tolerance
Consistent execution of fit intent and fit consistency with support from Fit Team through clear analysis, pattern corrections, visual adjustments, communication, and use of block patterns.
Schedule and lead sample fit meetings with assistance from key technical development, fit team, and design partners
Creates specifications for products and maintains all records, fit specs, BOM’s and construction details associated with TNF Innovation projects
Provide insight and guidance to regional sourcing and technical team leads and collaborate on construction, production, or cost engineering solutions
Some travel overseas to manufacturers will be required

Skills for Success
Years of related professional experience: 6+ years of experience in Technical Design/Product Development of technical outdoor apparel
Educational position requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
What You Will Bring:
Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
Strong product acumen with working knowledge of apparel product development processes, including design, development, sourcing, and manufacturing
Good knowledge of fit, patternmaking, and construction expertise, cost engineering and knowledge of manufacturing processes – previous travel to manufacturers a plus
Proactive approach to identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with a value driven commitment to do what is right
Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to manage multiple timelines and deadlines
Active participant in the product you are designing for – passion for your work equal to your passion for getting outside and living it
Understanding of trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity requirements, product cycle timeline and basic production process.
High degree of agility and adaptability
Knowledge of patternmaking and virtual digital systems, like, Gerber Lectra, Browzwear 3D, Optitex, Clo3D a plus
Working knowledge of Web PDM and PLM data management systems

Pay Range:
$88,128.00 USD - $132,192.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential:
This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
