We are a Creative Design Agency located in Long Beach, CA seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our fast-growing team of swimwear designers. We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior level Swimwear Designer to join our team for one of our Young Contemporary private label swimwear brands. This position will report into the Design Director and work closely with the entire creative team and technical team.

Job responsibilities are, but not limited to:
• Market and trend research specific to swim industry
• Comp shop quarterly to have complete understanding of what is going on in the swim market
• Assist Design Director to set color palettes and create mood boards to articulate vision and help lead team of designers to achieve a common goal
• Responsible for ensuring all design hand offs and deliverables are met on time
• Communicate design intent and all steps to do with the development process with Product Developers and fit technicians
• Design and develop new silhouettes each month
• Design and develop new cups that are specific to bra cup sizing
• Detailed tech packs for each design
• Represent team of designers at all times
• Work closely with print team on print needs (color ways, scale, repeat, etc.)
• Ability to identify trend appropriate ideas for a particular guest that celebrates the vision and spirit of the brand.
• Ability to illustrate design intent in cad formation (i.e. Silhouettes, trim and embellishment, textures, crochet patterns, etc.)
• Lead all internal design reviews alongside team
• Attend weekly fittings and be able to articulate fit intent during those meetings
• Schedule hand overs with PD and tech team.
• Ability to identify trending and down-trending silhouettes
• Ability to stay focused on the customer and delivering what the needs are of the customer
• Work with product development team to source new and innovated, swim-appropriate fabrications
• Work closely with team members to effectively assort collections so they are merchandised with price, color and silhouette balance top of mind
• Travel abroad for design research, upon return present ideas to team by reviewing purchased samples as well as creating travel re-cap

REQUIREMENTS:
• Ideal candidate will have a min. of 5 years of industry experience as a Swimwear Designer
• Ideal candidate will be Fluent in Illustrator and photo shop
• Ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly and in a professional and appropriate manner
• Ideal candidate will have the ability to travel domestically for design presentations with buyers.
• Ideal candidate will have a passport and be able to travel out of country for design research
• Ideal candidate will be an expert in Women’s Swimwear
• Ideal candidate will have strong presentation skills
• Ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ideal candidate will be able to provide professional and personal references
