Job Mission:

Based out of Long Beach, California and reporting to the Senior Business Unit Manager Skate, the Marketing Manager Skate & Action Sports represents a unique position for a world class marketer to position New Balance authentically in the world of Skateboarding and other associated cultures/activities. This new and exciting category for New Balance will be represented on a global scale as part of the overall New Balance (NB) business, vital to achieving its long term marketing and commercial goals. This role is responsible for leading NB’s overall Action Sports brand strategy and positioning. Leading the development and launch of Global Campaigns as well as being the strategic lead of the Game Plan/Calendar and Global Go-To-Market (GTM) cross functional launch process.

Major Accountabilities:

- Responsible for developing consumer-focused, athlete-led global marketing strategies and plans for the category, primarily with skateboarding but also including influence from surfing, BMX, snowboarding and other associated cultures/sports
- In collaboration with product, sales and regional marketing teams, this role is responsible for developing the annual marketing plans and budgets for the Skate/Action Sports categories to align with global brand priorities and GBU business priorities
- Build Clear Supporting Strategy to grow volume, market share and brand consideration in key regions
- Develop and manage annual global integrated marketing plans/budgets
- Partner with regional marketing teams on annual regional marketing execution plans/budgets
- Develop and execute retail marketing opportunities across specialist, owned and partnered retail in both skate and lifestyle distribution
- Manage the brand marketing, visual development and design process, print and digital media strategy including but not limited to brand websites, social media, online advertising, business-to-business, web interfaces and our online consumer stores
- Manage Design and Film Agencies, photographers and media partner relations
- Manage Athletes with the Team Manager and Marketing Assistant including implementation of strategies to maximize athlete investment, recruitment of athletes and relationships with agents.
- Together with the Product team, develop collaboration opportunities, launches and storytelling.
- Champion expansion of digital efforts for the category social media and expand our footprint globally
- Develop social media programs around NB athletes, and seasonal key product stories
- Develop rich digital content each season to support key product launches and athlete stories
- Partner with regional marketing teams on regional adoption of global social media content and integration regional social media content into global handles
- Grow consumer reach and engagement of all Skate/Action Sports social media handles
