Burton Snowboards and Channel Islands Surfboards are looking for a Store Manager at their flagship retail store on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, CA.
The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance of this high volume, LA retail location and will be expected to build and expand our customer base by building the store’s reputation for excellent sales and service and networking within the local surf / snow / skate community. They will also be responsible for broadening the store’s reach by introducing new customer groups to the store and the board sports lifestyle. Responsibilities include overseeing all 3 brands (snow, skate and surf) of the store, store set-up and merchandising, management of all aspects of store operations including exceptional sales and customer service, management hiring/training, inventory control, loss prevention, expense control, maintenance of financial records and store upkeep.
We will only consider candidates who can demonstrate a stellar track record in retail management and have at least 5-7 years in a high-volume, high-level retail management position. You should have a passion for action sports, and the ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and involvement in the boardsports community, and be able to utilize that knowledge to meet sales goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Direct the store to achieve store sales goals set by regional manager and VP
• Provide excellent customer service and maximize customer loyalty
• Analyze sales results and identify opportunities for improving performance for all 3 brands
• Utilize Strategic planning to evaluate and grow business
• Manage the human resource process to ensure the store is staffed with quality and empowered employees and develop a proactive selling team
• Coach, teach, train and develop all store staff and management personnel to achieve their maximum potential
• Work with corporate visual merchandiser and store management members to ensure all visual merchandise programs are fully implemented and executed manage presentation in the store to create an exciting shopping environment that meets or exceeds customers’ expectations
• Manage all store operations, working with Director of Retail Operations to maintain efficient business practices to ensure maximum profitability and control of expenses, operations, supplies and services, and inventory
• Work with national buyer & store management to ensure an appropriate merchandise mix and inventory levels for the store
• Work with marketing to establish strategies for acquiring new customers and growing the customer base, as well as building loyalty and repeat customer business
