We’re looking for a Social Media / Public Relations Manager who will report to the Director of Digital Marketing.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Social Media / Public Relations (PR) Manager is responsible for growing Takeya brand awareness, engagement, and affinity on and offline. This position is instrumental in developing and maintaining the company’s content-related assets and drives all media and public relations strategies and tactics. This position supports the campaigns and initiatives that originate within the marketing and ecommerce departments. The ideal candidate has a solid background producing top quality work within action sports, active lifestyle, and/or fashion industries. He/she is a strong writer, naturally curious and digitally immersed. Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
1. Work with the Director of Digital Marketing (DDM) to determine annual Social Media / PR investment required to meet or exceed growth goals, traffic and demand goals. Develop business case to support the annual investments.
2. Participate and align with the implementation of Digital Marketing plans as they pertain to Takeya USA Social Media. Adjust, correct and/or change as circumstances or feedback dictate.
3. Secure and manage third party vendors and agencies.
4. Create and distribute weekly social media calendars, monthly progress reports and PR updates
Planning and Execution
Social Media
1. Develop and implement Social Media strategies, campaigns, and plans to build brand awareness, grow followership, and engage consumers online / offline.
2. Create media relations strategy for high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
3. Incorporate optimization strategies (SEO), analyze data, and research best ways to increase site traffic
4. Create and maintain active editorial calendars – PR, Social, Blog
5. Execute the day-to-day posting of campaigns across predetermined social networks to ensure brand consistency across each.
6. Plan and execute paid social media advertising strategies and budgets
7. Secure new media partnerships.
8. Drive engagement with social media influencers
9. Create, maintain, and grow new and existing social networks, including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube
10. Monitor and report on social media progress using analytic tools
11. Resolve customer issues through social media
12. Research new media platforms, trends, and industry opportunities; provide insight to DDM.
Public Relations
1. Develop and implement PR strategies, campaigns, and plans to build brand awareness, grow followership, and engage consumers online / offline.
2. Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
3. Manage media inquiries and interview requests
4. Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
5. Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
6. Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
7. Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
STANDARD DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Available around the clock 24/7
• Remote work on weekends
• Occasional travel required outside normal hours for meetings, trade shows, special projects, etc.
• Observe all company safety and security rules and regulations.
• Report unusual conditions or problems to supervisor.
• Practice good housekeeping and proper personal appearance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Be a courteous and professional team player.
