We’re looking for... A Product Developer/Designer who can work full time in-office at our Puffin HQ in Bend, Oregon. (You’ll love it, we are near all sorts of good stuff.)
As our new Product Developer... you will help champion the product creation process from end-to-end, beginning at the concept stage, continuing through final development, and completing with a manufacturing ready product.
In a typical week you will… be working with the head of product to support the product needs of the seasonal and at once product launches. You will be working on everything from concept sketches, approving golden samples for production and everything in between. The days tend to be diverse and with a small team we do a bit of everything. We ARE the team to turn these ideas a reality.
You’re a good fit for this role if... you think of yourself and a creative problem solver and possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in soft goods production, including garment, material, and/or fabric. You hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. You are highly adaptable and can thrive in a multi-task environment as job responsibilities evolve. You have in-depth knowledge of fabric constructions, dye and printing techniques, finishes, and garment construction and manufacturing/sourcing processes. Creating tech packs is second nature to you, and effective interpersonal and organizational skills is something you take pride in. You are proficient in Adobe Design Suite, and if you possess 3D design capabilities, that would be a great plus. Lastly, you are willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed for trade shows and visiting vendors/suppliers.
