As Etnies Creative Director you will:
• The role is, in the broadest terms, to be the creative figurehead of our company to be the leader of our creative team and the public face of our creative output.
• Setting, managing and maintaining the creative standards and output of the Etnies Brand
• Leading the design of all visual projects and managing the effective delivery of these projects.
• Managing creative projects from concept to completion, translating marketing objectives into creative strategies, and directing the creative team in the production of advertising and marketing collateral.
• Creative lead all visual imaging of the company to make sure that the external creative reputation of etnies brand is of the highest standards and is consistent across all mediums –including PR, web presence, in-store presence, product graphics, video, and event branding
• Lead creative direction for all photography for the brand.
• Contribute to the visual direction of product design through graphics applications and color contributions
• Collaborate with the Etnies Design team in a team-oriented environment, while leading the team to achieve unity and cohesiveness of the brand’s aesthetic.
• Working with Director of Marketing Communication to establish and achieve department strategic goals.
• Working with BMM and brand team to establish and achieve brand strategic goals.
• Ensure that all output is off the highest standards and enhances the creative reputation of the brand to the appropriate audiences
• Managing the creative development of the team.
• Managing the design team within the accepted standards of the company.
• Be a key contributor to the etnies brand creative group lead by the SVP of Markeitng
• Recruitment - interviewing and appointing new designers (with the BMM and the Director of Marketing Communication)
• Provide a public face for the company attending meetings, giving presentations, attending events.
• Working with the Brand Team, Product Team and the MarCom Team to continue to always to find ways to enhance the reputation of the brand
• Working with the production manager and team to manage an effective workflow in the team.
• Appropriate administration, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, communication and liaison.
• Continuing training, research and personal development.
• Upholding the companies’ reputation by safeguarding our values and integrity. Adhering to, and being an advocate of, our company, our team and the values we hold.
The successful Etnies Creative Director candidate will have the following Skills and Experience:
• Must have 5 years of experience within a similar position.
• A genuine desire to inspire others, and an ability to do so.
• Track-record of producing superb graphic design solutions, demonstrable through a portfolio of work and hands-on experience, working with a range of different brands on a broad selection of projects.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with proven ability (through formal qualifications and/or experience.
• Experience of working in a team good interpersonal skills.
• An eye for detail and an ability to interpret information (verbal and written).
• The knowledge and ability to speak from an informed, authoritative and professional perspective
• An ongoing passion for design and visual communication
• A thorough understanding of the technical and practical issues relating to the job (ie lithographic printing, typographic considerations, digital image resolutions etc) to overcome difficulties
• A can-do attitude the ability to rise to any challenge and find ways
• The ability to multitask to cope with the competing requirements of a number of different projects, operating at different timescales, and with different levels of complexity and creative input
• A desire to be an enthusiastic member of, and interested in working with, our team a commitment to our values, vision, approach and ethos. Willingness to take on the values of our existing set-up, and to expand and reinforce them
• Solid experience of working with standard Mac-based graphic design software (Creative Suite etc). Familiarity of varying design applications such as Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, InDesign, PowerPoint, and in some cases 3-D rendering applications is highly beneficial
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure ability to prioritize tasks
• Recent relevant experience working as the Manager of a creative team.
• Background in working with brands within the actions sport industry
