Overview:
This position is ideal for an individual who will infuse the entire Distribution Team with their energy, leadership skills, and talent. The Sr. Manager, Distribution Center Operations leads, directs, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 fully automated distribution center serving domestic customers through wholesale, retail, and e-commerce channels. The Sr. Manager, Distribution Center Operations must have strong people and engagement focus, planning and communication skills, strong ethics, and experience in a fast-paced distribution environment. The individual must demonstrate enthusiasm and a constant drive for improvement. Must possess the ability to develop forward looking plans while being able to lead collaborative cross-functional teams to pivot and provide the flexibility required to support order-filling demands. Continued talent development skills are a must for organizational sustainability.
Responsibilities:
This position oversees all operational aspects related to distribution operations for our Visalia Distribution Center. Lead a team of up to 5 direct reports with a minimum of 450 associates within a 1 million sq foot facility servicing 4 brands including; The North Face, Vans, Icebreaker, and JanSport. The Sr. Manager, Distribution Operations orchestrates the strategy for efficient processing of shipments to customers, ensuring the quality, accuracy and timeliness of order processing. Provides leadership and manages performance, safety and engagement, across three shifts of operation. Promotes company values, including respect, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement. Actively participates in long and short term planning as a key member of the distribution center’s leadership team.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
! Responsible for the daily activity and performance of all distribution operations associates, managing execution of day to day distribution center operations within parameters of both labor and other operating expense budgets.
! Accountable for working collectively with internal partners to assure that the DC optimizes Operations Costs, Quality, Safety, and Service.
! Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment while focusing on the team’s efforts on minimizing work-related accidents and injuries.
! Ensures connectivity as appropriate with logistics teams and brand forecasting and planning to effectively support and deliver Service Level Agreements.
! Provides guidance and coaching as required. Interviews and makes hiring decisions.
! Partners with Human Resources on all associate issues and training plans.
! Collaborate with Engineering and IT staff to assess operations and to identify opportunities for improvement to help build a culture of continuous improvement within facility and to drive improved performance across all KPIs.
! Work with groups outside distribution to resolve issues (customer service, carriers, customs, etc.)
! Monitors, tracks and resolves processing concerns, driving issues to problem resolution.
! Enforces company polices in a firm, fair and consistent manner.
! Oversees safe-guarding of company equipment and assets.
! To hold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in every action performed on behalf of VF Corporation.
! To use good judgment whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of VF and its associates.
! Responsible for communications with managers and other key personnel between shifts as well as within a shift.
! Ensures proactive oversight of the Labor Management System supporting accurate reporting of associate efficiency, utilization, and attendance.
! Ensures the accurate forecasting, planning and on-boarding of staff to support meeting operational targets.
! Develop, create, analyze and report to senior management KPI's for each department the position is accountable for on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Skills for Success:
! Years of Related Professional Experience: 7+ years.
! EDUCATION- BA highly recommended.
! Demonstrated track record of career progression, consistently attaining more leadership responsibility and supervisory experience.
! Must be able to work onsite as needed.
! Experience with PKMS and SAP preferred.
! Ability to lead coach and develop staff to improve performance and achieve professional goals.
! Ability to develop long-term plans and evaluate work accomplishments.
! Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and the general public.
! Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
! Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
! Computer proficiency including specific job-required applications a must.
! Follows through with all tasks, assignments, and job duties in a timely manner.
! Willing and able to work additional hours when needed.
! Warehouse environment - Must be physically capable of working in conditions normally associated with a merchandise warehouse or distribution center, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, seeing and hearing moving equipment to stay out of harm’s way, and continuous power equipment noise.
! Demonstrated leadership competency.
! Possesses strong desire to provide high-quality service to end customer/consumer.
! Familiarity with an hourly incentive program.
! Familiarity with engineered standards programs.
! Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range:
$96,768.00 USD - $145,152.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential:
This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
