Senior Studio Photographer Location: Onsite in our Park City, Utah Headquarters officePay: $70,000 - $80,000 annuallyÂ

Want to contribute to the visual identity of an industry-defining brand and steer the creative direction of emerging brands? Backcountry is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Photographer to join our internal Creative team. You’ll be responsible for bringing to life the creative direction of our portfolio brands, including Backcountry, SteapandCheap, MotoSport, Competitive Cyclist, and Stoic. Â

This position requires a critical eye for photography, innate technical skill, and the ability to encapsulate the Art Director’s creative vision within the photograph. With your critical eye, innate technical skill, and ability to animate the Art Director’s creative vision within the frame, you’ll capture high-quality digital studio photography, both on and off model, for e-commerce campaigns and other marketing materials. Â

What You’ll Do Day To Day:Â


Execute well-planned, creatively exceptional and on-time projectsÂ


Shoot high-quality images that are properly exposed, color consistent, and in accordance with brand guidelinesÂ


Prepare and breakdown sets, checking that all equipment is functioning properlyÂ


Set up and troubleshoot lighting to match existing studio photographyÂ


Define new lighting setups for projects you collaborate onÂ


Name and maintain digital asset filesÂ


Maintain studio equipment, props, and suppliesÂ


Help improve workflows and processesÂ


Collaborate with producer on shoot schedule and retouching timing, with flexibility & understanding for shifting prioritiesÂ


Develop and maintain relationships with external photographers, retouchers, stylists, and their agentsÂ

 What You’ll Bring On Day One:Â


Keenness to collaborateÂ


Understanding of lighting, reflections, materials, textures, and how they affect colorÂ


Strong visual skills, attention to detail and an eye for consistency and colorÂ


Knowledge of both natural and studio lightingÂ


Ability to work independently and efficientlyÂ


Interest in emerging trends in fashion, the outdoor industry, design, film, art, media, and technologyÂ


Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC, and Capture One Â


Excellent organizational skills Â


Proven propensity to prioritize and innovateÂ


Thorough understanding of digital cameras, strobe lighting systems, and tethered capture Â

Your Resume Includes:Â


4+ years of studio photography experience; demonstrated ability to deliver top-quality imagery Â


B.S. degree in Art, Graphic Design, Digital Photography, or equivalent experience Â
