Santa Cruz Skateboards (OJ Wheels, Krux Trucks) is looking for a Brand Manager to join the team in Santa Cruz, CA.
Brand Manager:
Manage, develop and implement a Global Brand Strategy for Santa Cruz Skateboards, OJ Wheelsand KruxTrucks while pursuing the company’s departmental/financial goals and objectives. Manage the entire marketing and product lifecycles for these brands.
Main Goal:
Develop and execute strategic marketing and product plans forSanta Cruz Skateboards, OJ Wheels and Krux Trucks that capitalize on current momentum to create demand and retail sell-thru. Results will be based on brands sales, brand contribution and market share growth.
Desired strengths include but are not limited to: excellent written, strong communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to develop, analyze and coordinate marketing and product programs based on valid end-user research and feedback.
Desired qualities include but are not limited to: extremely well organized, clear communicator, works well under stress, ability to multi-task while being creative and innovative. Must be able to work independently and be a results oriented team player while working towards the goals of the NHS Mission, Vision and Core Value statement.
This position is a key member of the NHS marketing team, working with superiors, peers and subordinates across all lines, reporting to the Vice President, working closely and cooperatively with Team Managers and Art Directors, Social Media Coordinator, Web and Video Department, R & D, Operations, Finance and Sales.
Essential Brand Manager Functions:
• Set annual sales forecast based on sales history, trends, and product line and oversee progress monthly with sales management
• Set, execute and operate within annual marketing plan and budget
• Set 1-3annual brand/personalgoals and objectives around NHS 40K-Foot Goals, Mission, Vision Statements and Core Values
• Responsible for utilizing existing methods of Consumer and Dealer market research and the discovery of new methods
• Competitive analysis by category and region to find differentiation opportunities that are aligned with SC, OJ Wheels’and Krux Trucks’ competitive advantage(s)
• Development of annual hardgood and softgoodproduct lines insuring proper margins and optimal, on-time delivery.
• Quarterly “Path to Profitability”, marketing budget, sales reviews
• Work closely with Sales and Production to insure that productoffering, quantities and deliveries are appropriate and timely
• Brand presentations (hardgoods and apparel) for sales and distributor meetings multiple times annually
• Work closely to with RND to create, manage and archive all deck, wheel & truck files
• Communicate with Santa Cruz Art Director and Web, Video departments in a timely manner regarding graphics, apparel development, ads and promotional/marketing materials
• Communication with photographers and videographers in regards to marketing materials/pay rates and timely invoice processing
• Direction of all Santa Cruz, OJ and Kruxadvertising, product and promotions
• Monitor inventory on all Santa Cruzhardgoods and apparel, OJ, Kruxproducts to ensure popular SKUs stay in the stock and in the line. Work closely with sales to move stale, slow-moving product.
• Communication with Strange Notes Creative Director and Fun Factory video team to ensure team rider features and product related video scheduling for SC, OJ and Krux brands/products
• Coordinate marketing campaigns at least once per month meeting with appropriate staff members needed for execution. Measure and discuss results of previous campaigns to continually improve effectiveness
• Management of Santa Cruz, OJ and KruxTeam Managers setting goals, incentives and monitoring and reviewing progress monthly
• Work closely with Licensing Manager to support Santa Cruz Apparel licensees
• Oversee SMA reissue program product line and marketing
• Oversee Slime Balls product line and marketing
Minimum Qualifications are:
• Must have an instinctive feeling about future product concepts
• Must possess good analytical skills
• Good listening skills, able to respond to results and consumer research
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work well with a wide range of people from different parts of the business
• Must be a team leader, able to inspire others
• Ability to manage different projects at the same time
• Requires someone who is organized and methodical
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Strong presentation skills a must
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years’ experience in Marketing and/or Brand Management
Proficiency in the following computer software is required:
• Microsoft Excel, Word
• Google Analytics, Docs, Calendar
• Presentation Software (PowerPoint, Prezi)
• Social Media analytics- Facebook, Statigram, YouTube
