ONE Industries is looking for a Staff Accountant to assist in our Finance Department.
SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for performing account analysis and reconciliation, tax preparation, and preparation and adjustment of journal entries. The ideal Staff Accountant should possess attention to detail, high degree of professionalism, solid communication skills and strong computer skills as demonstrated by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries.
• Assists in the month-end close and year-end reporting processes.
• Performs accurate and timely recurring journal entries and accruals to ensure proper application of GAAP.
• Researches and analyzes financial performance to understand account activity and fluctuations in the income statement and balance sheet.
• Gives guidance to senior management per department on a monthly and annual basis for budget versus actual financial performance, cost analysis, and systems improvements and implementation.
• Reviews check requests for appropriate authorization, documentation and accuracy.
• Assists with year-end audits including schedules and footnotes.
• Assists in compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Prepares critical daily and monthly reports, including daily cash, daily sales, etc.
• Prepares property tax, sales and use tax, and reports as necessary.
• Compiles ad-hoc reports and analyses.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Four year college or university program bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field required and two to four years related experience and/or training.
Direction towards CPA preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems Database software Internet software Payroll systems Project Management software Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Preferred experience with NetSuite Systems or comparable ERP
Required proficiency with 2007 Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced proficiency required in Microsoft Excel 2007
