General Summary
You will bring your knowledge and creativity to support Men’s Design in bringing fashionable and well-made product to retail. The Technical Designer is responsible for assisting Men’s Design with production art and technical design.
Essential Job Functions
•Under direction of the Men’s Design Director, collaborate with the design team to achieve goals and hit calendar deadlines.
•Oversee the development of tech packs for all graphics, trims, and additional artwork to be production ready for mainline, licensing and SMU requests.
•Create new tech pack templates for any new development and ensure all appropriate documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes.
•Aid in adjusting designer’s original artwork and colorways for additional styles, fits and/or factory needs.
•Liaison between Design and Development for any production issues and factory requests.
•Partner with product development to communicate critical design information related to the development and framework of product during tech pack hand off.
•Review and comment on strike-offs and pre-production samples from factory.
•Collaborate with Design and Development to develop on-going block development needs: product technical packs, Artwork/Packaging Specifications, and BOMs.
•Create flat sketches in Illustrator for new development under direction of the Creative Director.
•Participate in live fit sessions and communicate thorough fit comments and revisions to factories.
•Prepare approval forms for all men’s licensed underwear, apparel, accessories, and packaging trims each season.
•Manage all men’s style submissions for licensor approval process as point of contact. Communicate comments & direction from licensor to men’s design team.
•Create the seasonal catalog and manage all men’s seasonal PNG assets for NuOrder handoff and cross-functional teams.
•Maintain the men’s archive library.
