Seea, a passion-forward swimwear company, is hiring a highly organized, detail-driven Textile Developer to join our creative product development team. This is a full-time, hands-on role based 4 days a week in our studio. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of textile construction, a passion for sustainable materials, and experience working directly with vendors to develop, source, and negotiate fabric and print needs. You’ll be responsible for managing fabric swatches, trims, lab dips, and print development, supporting both creative and technical development from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Fabric & Trim Development
- Source fabrics and trims that meet design, performance, and sustainability criteria
- Maintain, archive, and organize all fabric swatches, trims, and headers (physically and digitally) Develop and maintain seasonal swatch books
- Organize fabric and trim libraries by vendor and season for easy access and reference
Print & Color Development
- Request lab dips, print files, and strike-offs from vendors
- Receive and document all print and color submissions digitally and physically
- Create and update lab dip and S/O photos with color codes in internal tools (Dropbox, Monday, database) Revise and finalize print artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Fresco
- Create seamless repeats and technical files to send to vendors
- Apply color callouts using Pantone Connect or Vendor's color blankets
Vendor Communication & Coordination
- Collaborate directly with vendors for fabric sourcing, print development, and lab dip execution Negotiate pricing and minimums with fabric and trim suppliers
- Send out purchase orders and manage timelines for development milestones
- Receive incoming shipments, review contents, and prepare outgoing lab dip/S/O packages for internal team
Studio & Process Organization
- Maintain a clean, efficient workspace and proactively improve storage and archiving systems Assist with filing and organizing vendor books, color cards, and strike-offs
- Upload and organize color books and strike-offs in Dropbox and vendor folders upon arrival
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in product development, fabric sourcing, or materials management Deep knowledge of textile construction ( knit, woven, fiber types, finishing processes)
- Experience with sustainable material sourcing and vendor compliance standards and certifications.
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Fresco (iPad) Strong organization skills with a system-oriented mindset
- Familiar with Pantone Connect and other digital color tools
- Experience with Dropbox, Monday.com, or similar tools a plus
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills
