Develops and manages regional Marketing and Visual strategy which aligns Vans' brand, retail, wholesale, and product initiatives while driving growth. Provides all necessary tools to partners and distributors to execute strategic initiatives, and communicates regional results and best-practices to distributors, partners, and within Vans. Establish control-related standards and procedures to produce results that are timely and consistent while still locally relevant.
*Must be fluent in either Spanish or Portuguese*
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops regional Marketing and Visual strategy communicates this strategy to regional partners and ensures appropriate information and materials are received by regional marketing contacts in a timely manner for local application. Assists with translation and adaptation where necessary. Travels to region periodically to ensure consistent execution.
2. Oversees execution of regional Environmental Design (Visual) strategy. Oversees execution of plans, guiding visual message at Vans stores, wholesale points of sale, and key account build-outs that is consistent and current with global strategy while still locally relevant. Acts as primary link between regional partners and Vans, providing support wherever necessary.
3. Oversees execution of marketing activities and initiatives including budgets, media plans, events, athletes, PR, etc., and provides support and guidance where needed, ensuring plans align with produce, sales, and brand objectives. Consult with Vans' legal and marketing personnel for approval.
4. Coordinates and monitors regional interactive/online initiatives, including but not limited to regional Vans websites, social-media, and online merchandising by partners and accounts. Manage regional transition to new digital tools and platforms, such as digital catalogs, Vans sites, etc.
5. Participate in all Marketing and Product reviews as representative of Latin America marketing apply learnings from reviews to creation and execution of regional strategy. Responsible to drive the overall messaging between Product and Marketing strategies to ensure cohesiveness throughout the region.
6. Compiles, creates, and distributes regularly Marketing reports from Latin America to senior management, and the other way, communicating regional results and best-practices to regional partners, encouraging innovation and constant improvement.
7. Builds and maintains key regional contacts and relationships as related to product, marketing, and visuals.
8. Manages marketing intelligence projects on competitor activity, pricing, retail results, and product.
9. Advocate for long-term strategic goals of region, including development of large scale events and campaigns, application of major Vans assets, etc.
Desired Skills & Experience
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or 3-5 years - or equivalent combination of education and experience
Action Sports Lifestyle/Experience a plus
Skills:
Bi-lingual Skills English/Spanish and/or Portuguese a must
Interactive media knowledge strongly preferred
Ability to drive for results with limited supervision
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Excellent organization and contact management skills.
Experience with business and brand management practices.
Knowledge and experience in Sals and Marketing functions.
Ability to manage Customer relations.
High energy, versatile and self-directed with consistent attention to detail.
Ability to Multitask.
Willing and Able to work additional hours if needed.
Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point.
Special Requirements:
Travels to international markets regularly (approx 40%-50% travel) including air and overnight.
Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need
