Custom LeatherCraft. -- a Los Angeles based company -- is seeking an experienced full-time Design Manager to lead our talented team of designers.
The design manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the design team, setting priorities and resource allocation, overseeing adherence to processes, quality and deadlines of all projects. This position includes both managerial and hands-on design responsibilities.
In addition to outstanding graphic design and managerial skills, the candidate must be able to:
•Manage a team of 5-6 designers.
•Create, organize, and prioritize project schedules.
•Supervise work done by outside vendors and/or freelancers as needed.
•Work closely with the sales team, designers, and programmers from initial conception through completion of projects paying excellent attention to detail
Requirements
•3+ years of experience managing a team of designer and graphic designers
•College degree
•Broad understanding of the internet and related technologies
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong leadership/management skills
•The ability to motivate staff outside of direct influence.
•Excellent organizational skills
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Ability to self-manage projects and work within time deadlines
•Provide visual design critiques and direct positive change
•Expert knowledge of and proficiency in most recent versions of: Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino.
•Marketing experience is a major plus!
•Understanding of some basic programming is also a plus
