Major home textiles company headquartered in South San Francisco, California has an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR DESIGNER who is willing to travel. Our customers include large retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Target, JCPenney, Bed Bath & Beyond & Linens & Things. We offer competitive salary and a full benefits package. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to design bedding products i.e. Quilts/ Comforters/Sheets/Bed-in-Bag/Dec Pillows/Accessories. Knowledge of bedding products and color trends. Prefer applicants who have worked with fabric/color like Pottery Barn/Williams-Sonoma.

-Design quilts, comforters, sheets & other home fashion products

-Prepare concept/presentation boards for Sales/Marketing

-Able to complete from concept to finished product

-Understand costing and production/sampling deadline

-Research trend through trade shows & competitive retail markets

-Work with key vendors on trend/design for new products

-Work independently with Marketing/Sales for new product development

-Able to meet very short/tight deadlines

-Able to present and communicate to major retail buyers color, concept, and construction


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate is process oriented, conscientious towards detail, meets deadlines, understands costing and quilt construction:

-Able to work overseas in Shanghai, China for up to one year

-Worked with large retailers like Walmart/Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn

-Strong knowledge in fabric/textile embellishments

-Innovative in design / New product techniques

-Knowledge of color trend/customer needs in fashion and home

-Knowledge of Fabrics, color & understanding of Print design + repeats

-Strong Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a must

-Experienced with Specs, Proportion, and Presentation Boards

-2-5 years of Home Textiles experience preferred
