General Summary

The Warehouse Cycle Count Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of inventory cycle counting within the warehouse. This role ensures that inventory levels are accurate, and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. The Cycle Count Supervisor will manage a team of cycle counters, coordinate with various departments, and implement best practices to maintain optimal inventory accuracy.


Essential Job Functions

• Supervision and Leadership:

Lead and manage the cycle count team, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and performing at their best.

Schedule and assign daily cycle count tasks, ensuring coverage for all necessary inventory areas.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and performance updates.

• Cycle Counting Process:

Develop and implement a structured cycle count schedule to ensure regular and systematic counting of all inventory items.

Oversee the execution of daily cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the counting process.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by coordinating with relevant departments, such as Receiving, Shipping, and Inventory Control.

• Inventory Management:

Analyze cycle count results and provide reports on inventory accuracy, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Collaborate with the Inventory Control team to maintain accurate stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize errors and losses.

• Data Analysis and Reporting:

Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software tools to track and record cycle count data.

Generate and distribute regular reports on cycle count results, discrepancies, and inventory accuracy metrics to management.

Recommend corrective actions and process improvements based on cycle count analysis.

• Compliance and Safety:

Ensure that all cycle counting activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Monitor the cycle counting area for safety hazards and take corrective action as necessary.

Train the cycle count team on safety protocols and ensure adherence to all safety regulations.

• Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in the cycle counting process and inventory management.

Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving inventory accuracy, reducing discrepancies, and enhancing overall warehouse efficiency.

Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant changes to the cycle counting process.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.


Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

• Experience with cycle counting, inventory management, and warehouse management systems (WMS) is required.


Physical Requirements

Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
