Thrashermagazine.com is looking for a full-time web designer who can help carry the look, feel, and personality of the magazine over to our website and video graphics.
You would be joining a small team where you will be expected to wear many hats.
A passion for both skateboarding and web design is absolutely required.
Skills we are looking for:
- Strong sense of design and a solid command of Adobe CS suite
- Proven production experience with web and video graphics
- Attention to detail and organization
- Solid knowledge of web design standards and best practices
- Strong HTML and CSS skills
- Ability to communicate and work well with a variety of personalities in a fast-paced, deadline-based environment
Responsibilities:
- Helping to make our website kick ass every day
- Coming up with cool graphics/logos/skins/whatever is needed for our online features
- Integrating articles from the mag onto the website
- Meeting deadlines, which can mean occasionally working night and weekend hours as needed
- Constantly brainstorming and implementing ways to improve the design and usability of our site(s)
- Creation of micro-sites for special events, contests, Skate Rock tours, etc.
- Working with our filmers & editors to create original motion graphics for our videos
- Integrating video graphics that are consistent and well-designed
- Creating promotional Emails and in-house online ads for the website, magazine, products, etc...
- Integrating and promoting website features with social media
This full-time paid position offers medical benefits and the option of a 401k. Our Hunters Point office in San Francisco has an enclosed employee parking lot and is also accessible via the Muni T line.
