Obey Clothing, in Irvine, Calif. is looking for a Packer / Shipper to join the team!
Job Summary:
The packer/shipper will perform a variety of routine shipping, order fulfillment and housekeeping tasks. Order fulfillment and shipping tasks include picking, packing and shipment of orders, and stocking the warehouse shelves. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Essential Functions:
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
1. Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with pick ticket and customer requirements
2. Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock
3. Notify the supervisor of shortages
4. Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
5. Maintain product stock in work area
6. Stock shelves in the warehouse
7. Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the supervisor when materials get to the restocking point
8. Responsible for checking the picker’s accuracy.
9. Scanning out pieces as they are packed into cartons and reporting any UPC discrepancies to supervisor.
10. Palletizing all outgoing shipments.
11. Keep packing tables and work areas clean and free of clutter.
12. Keep all size boxes stocked in packing area.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience in receiving, fulfillment or shipping
• Effective communication /comprehension skills – verbal and written
Skills Required:
• Computer literacy required (must be proficient with the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet)
• Demonstrated ability in basic mathematics, and the ability to follow and enforce the adherence to process
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment
Working conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
• Shifts vary depending on workload and urgency, availability on weekends may be required.
• Required to lift and carry loads of up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Required walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling.
• Work outside and inside work around machinery, moving forklifts, work on ladders.
• Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking
